The Ten Lost Tribes: A People of Destiny: An Account of the Assyrian Conquest and Israelite Captivity

Another collection of lost tribe drivel...
Once again, Clay McConkie strikes out big time in his book "The Ten Lost Tribes." I was almost happy to see a new book from him, thinking that perhaps he had purged himself of the spurious assertions made in his previous work "Gathering of the Waters." Once again, Mr. McConkie fails to see the _symbolic_ representation that the lost tribes are in the land of the "north" (semitic symbolism shows that "north" means "obscure" or "gloomy"). His assertions are most likely based on one, maybe two eisegetical interpretations of scripture (possible misconceptions of Nehemiah 1:9 and D&C 133:22-31). However there is a plethora of scriptural passages which show that the lost tribes are scattered throughout the entire earth: Deut. 30:3; Jer. 3:17; 16:15; 23:3; 29:14; 32:37; Ezek. 11:17; 20:41; 28:25; 36:24; 37:21 (21-28); 39:27; Isa. 5:26 (2 Ne. 15:26); 6:12-13 (2 Ne. 16:12-13); 11:11; Amos 9 (entire chapter); 1 Ne. 19:16; 22:3-4, 25; 3 Ne. 5:24; 16:5; 20:13; Moses 7:62; JS-M 1:27, etc. etc. These passages indicate that their "gathering" or return will most likely happen right under our noses, and is probably happening as we speak. They're here Clay, it's just that you and I don't "see" it as well as we should.

Mr. McConkie's gospel hobby has gone too far. Could it be from a lack of hermeneutical training? Poor exegetical methodology? Misunderstanding of semitic symbolism and lexicology? Buy this book and decide for yourself... or just take a class or two in semitics and learn the truth.
